The Power of Generosity
As we look back on a year filled with meaningful accomplishments both big and small, I keep finding myself returning to the simple truth that the strength of Gilda’s Club Minnesota comes from the people who believe in this organization. Research breakthroughs, statewide and national partnerships, and the day-to-day programs that keep our clubhouse filled with support and connection are all possible because of small, steady acts of generosity.
Those small actions make all the difference. Here are a few small steps you can take to make a big difference:
- Talk about Gilda’s Club Minnesota with your community. You never know when cancer might enter someone’s life. Make sure your circle knows that Gilda’s Club is here at no-cost for anyone facing cancer throughout Minnesota.
- Volunteer at Gilda’s Club Minnesota. We are always seeking volunteers to welcome members at our front desk, to lead healthy lifestyle classes and social opportunities, to take on leadership roles on our Board of Directors, Associate Board, and various committees, and so much more. These volunteers are often the first friendly contact someone receives when they reach out for support. Visit GildasClubMN.org/Volunteer to get started.
- Give your time with intention by organizing a small fundraiser:
- Have a birthday fundraiser. Ask your community to donate to Gilda’s Club Minnesota in honor of your special day.
- Host a bake sale or silent auction at your workplace with funds supporting Minnesotans impacted by cancer.
- Ask loved ones to give in honor of a milestone.
- Invite your friends to join you at an upcoming event.
- Offer steady support through monthly giving.
Our organization has grown because our community shows up! And no matter how you choose to show up and support Gilda’s Club Minnesota, you’re helping build a community where people facing cancer feel seen and understood. Your actions, big or small, make a difference in the lives of Minnesotans impacted by cancer. Your support helps someone find their footing through some of the hardest days of their life.
