Join Us In Thanking Louise Harris, Outgoing Board Chair

Gilda's Club Minnesota March 27, 2023

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to GCTC’s outgoing Board Chair, Louise Harris, for her years of dedicated service. Louise has been a tireless advocate for our organization, and her leadership has been invaluable.

Louise stepped into the role of Board Chair of Gilda’s Club Minnesota during a financial storm and stepped up to help lead us through a leadership change and COVID. As she is stepping back (but not away), Louise has put Gilda’s Club in a far better situation than before. They say leaders arrive when they are needed, and Louise answered the call. We are so indebted to her service.

Under her guidance, Gilda’s Club Minnesota has thrived and grown significantly as we’ve added virtual, hybrid, and community outreach programs to our offerings for those facing cancer. We have been able to make a real impact in our community thanks to Louise’s leadership.

Louise made a significant and positive impact on Gilda’s Club during her time on the Board of Directors and serving as our Board Chair. Louise’s leadership guided us through a visionary strategic plan as we sought to invest in diversity, inclusion, and equity and increase access to our cancer support programming for all facing cancer. We will miss her presence and insight on the board. We hold her close to our hearts as we thank her for her service and remind her that she will always be an important part of the Gilda’s Club Minnesota community!

– Katherine Todd, Executive Director.

We know she will be missed, but we are confident that the board will continue to thrive under the leadership of her successor, Dr. John Piatkowski.

On behalf of the GCTC board, staff, members, donors and volunteers, thank you for all that you have done for Gilda’s Club Minnesota, Louise!
