Gilda's Club Minnesota September 27, 2020

Optimism – Thank you for 6 years.

Optimism is the bedrock on which Gilda’s Club Minnesota was built.  Back in 2004, a group of volunteers imagined a place where no one faces cancer alone.  Such a place existed elsewhere, but not in the Twin Cities.  Following extensive outreach to the medical community, our founders, volunteers, and supporters learned there was a gap in cancer care in the Twin Cities.  People impacted by cancer had a need for the evidence-based program of social and emotional support that Gilda’s Club could provide.  Filled with hopefulness and confidence about the future, this dedicated team forged ahead with a plan to build a clubhouse.  Continue reading Libby’s article here.

Facts, feelings and future.

It is indeed a fact that cancer and this pandemic has upended our lives. And our feelings about how those impacts on our daily lives are likely vast and varied. And it is my guess that for many, the concept of future seems uncertain and this can bring some anxiety and perhaps even some waves of hopelessness. I say this because it seems like in most of my groups this is a recurring theme lately. How do I hold hope and acknowledge the real hardships that accompany so much uncertainty? Gather to Give gratitude and more!

Thank you to all those who supported Gilda’s Club Minnesota through our first ever Virtual Event, Gather to Give. We are grateful to all who offered their support, the event raised nearly $300,000! Gilda’s Club Minnesota is a place where people currently impacted by cancer gather, connect, and learn. Community support enables us to provide social and emotional support to men, women, children, and teens – as well as their families and friends. Continue reading Carissa’s update here.
