Gilda’s Club Minnesota to Host Walk for Cancer Support
Gilda’s Club Minnesota will be hosting the first-ever Walk for Gilda’s on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. The event, which includes a walk, 5K, and wellness fair will raise funds and awareness for Gilda’s Club Minnesota’s free cancer support programming and highlight how community is stronger than cancer.
The Walk for Gilda’s will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th at Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. Starting at 8:00 a.m., the health and wellness resource fair will open, featuring organizations working in health, wellness, and cancer support in Minnesota. Individuals of all ages are invited to join in for the walk or 5K fun run or stop by to visit the resource fair and cheer on participants.
Walk for Gilda’s registration is $20 for children and $30 for adults, which includes a Walk for Gilda’s T-shirt. Participants are encouraged to team up with friends, family members, coworkers, or neighbors to raise support and awareness and bring team spirit – dressing up and having fun is encouraged! For those who aren’t available to join the Walk at Lake of the Isles on the 28th, a virtual option is available, where participants can support Gilda’s Club Minnesota at the time and place of their choosing. For a $50 donation, supporters can have a tribute or memorial sign placed along the walk route, commemorating loved ones who have experienced cancer. All proceeds from the Walk for Gilda’s will benefit Gilda’s Club Minnesota’s free, five-part supportive programming for Minnesotans impacted by cancer.
