Supporting the Gilda’s Club Community
While we are soon to become Gilda’s Club Minnesota, our vision remains the same: everyone impacted by cancer receives the support they want and need throughout their experience. We are built by the community for the community. Those who volunteer their time and talents are essential to our foundation.
Gilda’s Club volunteers vary in their experiences and life stages, bringing an array of skills, including handiwork, data entry, event planning, community outreach, teaching, accounting, marketing, gardening, and more. Each individual who volunteers adds unique value to the Gilda’s Club community, and we’re grateful to have so many dedicated community members doing what they can to further our mission! We’re changing our name to reflect the community we serve, and as we move forward to support even more Minnesotans impacted by cancer, there will be new opportunities to support Gilda’s Club and share your skills.
Member Path
Volunteering is a fantastic way to give back to the community and provides many personal benefits, such as connection and purpose. We encourage current members to focus on self-care first and allow Gilda’s Club to provide support before giving back to others through Gilda’s Club.
Members attending programming listed under the Support category, such as support groups and art therapy, are discouraged from volunteering at Gilda’s Club Minnesota. When you are ready to move on from a support group, we will welcome your sharing of your time and skills. If you are in a support program and believe that volunteering would be beneficial, I would love to connect you with another organization that could benefit from your service. Members who do not attend support programs are welcome to volunteer their time and skills with opportunities like envelope-stuffing and event support.

With gratitude,
Renee Anderson
