The Difference Volunteers Make: A Midyear Reflection
As we reach the halfway point of the year, it’s incredible to reflect on the impact our volunteers have already made across the Gilda’s Club Minnesota community.
In April, we had the opportunity to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month with a wonderful volunteer appreciation dinner. We are especially grateful to Olio for helping make the evening incredibly special so we were able to recognize the dedicated individuals who give their time and talents to support our mission.
As of June 2026, our volunteers have reported more than 1,500 hours of service, with over 100 volunteers contributing their time since the beginning of the year. We’re also excited to see new volunteers continuing to join our community, bringing fresh energy and compassion to our programs and events.
Whether it’s teaching a yoga class, creating a welcome card for a member, serving on a committee, helping at a special event, or greeting members with a warm smile as a Gilda Greeter, every act of service matters. Each volunteer contribution – no matter how big or small – helps create meaningful moments of connection, comfort, and support for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
On behalf of our staff, members, and community, thank you to our volunteers for all that you do. Your generosity, dedication, and kindness help make Gilda’s Club Minnesota a place where no one has to face cancer alone. Together, we continue to build a strong and welcoming community of support for everyone impacted by cancer.

With gratitude and appreciation,
Melissa McWilliams
