Finding a Spark
Through a therapeutic experience with horses, one participant described something she hadn’t felt since beginning chemotherapy:
I realized that I felt like myself again today, my spark is still there.
That is the kind of moment Gilda’s Club hopes to create: a chance to step outside of cancer, even briefly, and reconnect with yourself.
For someone impacted by cancer, finding moments of joy, calm, confidence, or connection can feel incredibly meaningful. At Gilda’s Club Minnesota, these moments happen every day.
Our community offers people impacted by cancer a place to gather, connect, learn, and find support, whether they are newly diagnosed, navigating treatment, supporting someone they love, or adjusting to life after cancer.
There is no one way to experience cancer, so there should not be just one way to find support.
Through support groups, healthy lifestyle classes, education sessions, and social opportunities, Gilda’s Club members can find the kind of connection and support they need, when they need it.
Support. Connection. Learning. Movement. Community.
Finding something within your grasp
With so much out of my control in this journey, I know that this is something I can do…it is within my grasp.
This member shared this with us after having taken part in several Gilda’s Club programs, including a weekly Qigong class, sound healing, a clubhouse retreat, and movement classes. Together, those experiences helped her feel more centered and empowered as she navigated treatment and upcoming surgeries.
Finding some peace
It is a great experience to lower stress levels and find some peace after having ups and downs traveling through a life with and post cancer treatments.
Sometimes the impact of a program is profound. Sometimes it is simply having an hour to breathe, move, listen, learn, or be with people who understand.
And sometimes, that is exactly what someone needs.
These moments may look different for every person, but they all begin with the same thing: a community that is there when someone needs it.
A person might first walk through our red doors for a support group. They might return for a movement class, attend an educational program, or simply sit down and talk with someone who understands. Over time, those experiences can become an important part of how they navigate cancer.
None of these moments happen without the generosity of our community.
Donor support makes it possible for Gilda’s Club Minnesota to offer these programs and experiences to people impacted by cancer across Minnesota. It helps ensure that someone can find a support group, take a class, connect with others, or discover a moment of joy without having to navigate the financial barriers that can come with cancer.
Because of our donors, no one has to face cancer alone.
Every dollar raised creates another opportunity for someone to find support, connection, strength, or simply a little more joy during a difficult time.
There are more people who need these moments. And we need our community to help make them possible.
Give. Invite others to give. Bring your workplace or community together. Start a fundraiser. Share why Gilda’s Club matters to you.
Together, we can create more moments like these for Minnesotans impacted by cancer.

With gratitude,
