Looking Forward to the Year to Come.
Dear Gilda’s Club Minnesota friends,
As 2020 draws to a close, we at Gilda’s Club Minnesota are reflecting on the tumultuous year that was. None of us could have anticipated a global pandemic, nor imagined the impact that it would have on our community, our state, our country, our world. As I write this, however, I want to reflect on the hope that I feel today. Today, as I watched the first Americans receive the COVID-19 vaccine, I felt tremendous hope for the future – a future that will once again be filled with personal, face-to-face interactions, and even hugs (how I have missed hugs)!
Where 2020 forced us to quickly pivot, 2021 will bring more planful change. We are hard at work planning for the eventual transition back into the clubhouse. Ensuring the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and members is our driving force. There is no roadmap for this transition and each day new questions arise. We are closely following the recommendations of the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and Minnesota Department of Health as well as working with members of our Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board to establish a comprehensive plan to reopen our red doors.
The Gilda’s Club Minnesota staff knows that in-person support is what makes our support program so effective and special, but for now, we need to keep everyone safe and will continue to offer virtual programming. Check out our calendar to see the wide variety of support options available – there is something for everyone. And, rest assured, Gilda’s Club Minnesota will continue to offer virtual programming even after the clubhouse reopens.
We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in the new year.

With hope and gratitude,
Libby
