Value of Conversation

Gilda's Club Minnesota March 27, 2023

“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”

― Vincent Van Gogh

The small things have the biggest impact. A stranger purchasing your coffee, a friend checking in, and a pet wanting to cuddle are a few great examples of acts that can turn one’s day around. The same is true here are Gilda’s Club Minnesota. The flowers donated by Trader Joe’s brings so much joy to our members when they walk in through the red doors. Gilda Greeters welcome members on their first and fiftieth day at the clubhouse. A piece of chocolate makes a difference by bringing smiles to faces.

The same can be said for volunteering one’s time. There is no task that is insignificant, and every bit helps. However, the simple things that make a significant difference are often overlooked.

Recall how you first heard about Gilda’s Club Minnesota. You may have heard about GCTC through a friend, seen a brochure in a waiting room, or discovered GCTC online. What were your first thoughts? So often, we hear people say, “I had no idea this organization was here.”

One of the greatest ways to support Gilda’s Club Minnesota is by telling people we are here!

If ten people told five people about GCTC, 50 people who may have never known we were here could receive support. Each of those 50 people may tell a few more people about our work here, creating a ripple effect.

Take a few minutes to talk about the amazing work done at Gilda’s Club Minnesota with your friends, family, coworkers, community organizations, places of worship, etc. Come by the clubhouse and grab some brochures or refer-a-friend cards to hand out. Or, share a post or two on social media. Each action adds up. You never know who may need to hear about Gilda’s Club.
